So Long London

Writer: Ms. ConstantMs. Constant

An ode to something old, a warm embrace to something new.

In appreciation of your thousands of years of history that are admired at this modern age.

Unpleasant as it may be, the past can be looked at without hate and pain, but just as it is, the past.

Rebuilding without destruction. Onward and forward with hesitation. Persevered not incumbered. Inspired, encouraged, and roused by the possibility to build anew. In spite of not despite of the pain, the hurt, and sacrifices. Bridging then and now for a better tomorrow.

So long London. At your churches we pray, that tomorrow is a better and brighter day. You had listened to all the chants, yearning, devotions of faithful and unfaithful servants. We pray that we may be able to look back and forward all at once. With a greater perspective of what is behind, what's in front, what is real and what is not. That we may see the truth right here presented in our path.

So long London, here with you I bury together with all the heroes, the fighters, the thinkers, the artists of your past. I enshroud herewith the fights I lost, the thoughts I engaged with, the fears I harbor, and the pain of the life that was. I deposit here, the heavy baggage I refuse to carry. So long London as I carry on with a lightness in my stride and a lift in my flight.

So long London, a cheers to you!

So long London. It was lovely to meet you.
